I was born in Rome (Italy) in 1968 and I have been taking pictures since 1991. I started when I was my first time in USA. While there, I met the photographer Barry J. Durand from Chicago, from whom I learned useful suggestions to improve composition and colour techniques. He is still a great friend of mine. In 1993 I began my collaboration with Vision, a stock agency based in Rome, that still continues nowadays. Some of my pictures are also licensed to Getty Images - London. Since 2006 I collaborate with Lonely Planet Images. During the last three years I gave lessons in photography, in particular focusing on travels and landscapes. I use Nikon equipment, a FM2 camera for landscapes if I need manual control whereas a F100 for people and speed shots in case I need autofocus and semiautomatic functions; my lenses range from 20mm to 300mm. Mainly, I use Fuji Velvia 50 ISO film to get best colour saturation and sharpness. From my last trip to Morocco, I've been using a D200 digital body. When I travel, I try to capture the main aspects of places, art sites and people, marking out their aesthetics qualities with bright colours and clean composition images. |
